Unique Buffalo Technology:
What is Buffalo™ Client Manager?
Client Manager is the Windows WLAN configuration software from Buffalo™ Technology.
It ships as Version V for Windows 10/8/7, and Vista (and is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit versions) and Version 3 for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP.
Version 3 can replace the Windows Wireless Zero Configuration. The Client Manager V uses Windows’ own mechanism, and therefore
needs to work parallel with – and not replace – it.
What does the Client Manager do?
The Buffalo Client Manager can be used the following ways:
- Manage wireless connections by creating a profile for each connection
- Connect a wireless client using Buffalo's AOSS technology to establish a secure connection by simply pressing a button; this works with Buffalo routers only.
- Connect to any router using WPS (while the router must also support WPS).
The program works with all wireless client adapters and wireless routers from Buffalo™ Technology. This software enables you to connect your wireless client with a wireless router or access point, and with other client devices (ad hoc). It offers range of advanced settings such as 802.1x authentication, WPA/WPA2 support, default printer settings, proxy and IP address settings, and much more – a choice of options that few other client managers can match.
Client Manager is also a key component in the AirStation One-Touch Secure Setup technology (AOSS) by Buffalo. With AOSS, you can set up a connection between wireless clients and an AOSS wireless router or access point at the touch of a button. AOSS manages security automatically and sets up the highest level of encryption possible while maintaining client compatibility. The Client Manager now works with most wireless client adapters from other manufacturers. These include wireless expansion cards as well as integrated wireless chipsets for notebooks, such as Centrino and other built-in wireless solutions. Buffalo Technology does not guarantee compatibility with all WLAN adapters, but based on our testing it works with majority of devices available on the market today.
The Client Manager V can also monitor wireless channels and signal quality of wireless networks nearby.
Please note, Client Manager 3 or V may be used to manage wireless clients made by different manufacturers but Buffalo Technology can only offer technical support for Buffalo products. Due to varying configurations of other manufacturers’ devices, please contact them directly for support of a non-Buffalo wireless device.
