The Buffalo TeraStation™ ES (TS-XEL) is the ideal choice for the home office or small business looking for a low-cost yet secure and reliable Network Attached Storage (NAS). With robust RAID 5 capability and redundancy of four separate hard drives, it would keep your data safe even if a hard drive fails. TeraStation™ ES is easy-to-install and easy-to-manage, and offers many business continuity and disaster recovery features such as Replication, Hot Swap and Hot Spare, and Automatic Disk Encryption - for maximum reliability and data security.

High redundancy

TeraStation™ ES has a redundancy of four separate hard drives in RAID 5 or RAID 1 modes; redundancy keeps data secure and the system running during hard drive failure.

Hot Swap and Hot Spare for data protection

With Hot Swap and Hot Swap functionality, even if a hard drive fails, the TeraStation™ ES will automatically power down the faulty drive and switch to a spare drive, allowing the failed drive to be safely removed and replaced without causing any data loss or down time.

Data backup with replication

The replication function allows a second TeraStation™ ES to be connected via the LAN port and for data to be replicated, enabling it to become a spare drive. Having a spare or mirrored unit improves reliability, fault tolerance and accessibility, and promotes quick recovery from any hard drive failure.

High speed data transfer

TeraStation™ ES supports data transfer rates of up to 60MB per second.

With the help of clear LCD status display and intuitive Web interface, it is easy to install and manage the units.

Dual Ethernet ports

TeraStation™ ES is designed with two Gigabit Ethernet Ports (10/100/1000 Mbit/s) to support port trunking and load balancing.
