2011-03-15

London UK, 15 March 2011 - Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of storage and wireless networking solutions, today announced the launch of its latest network attached storage (NAS) device for home users. The LinkStation Pro Quad provides central storage for any home, allowing multiple users to share and save music, movies, photos and more.

Available in 4TB and 8TB capacities, the LinkStation Pro Quad is easy to install and allows users to stream their multimedia files directly from the LinkStation Pro Quad to a computer, PS3®, Xbox 360® or network attached DLNA or UPnP media player. As a new feature, users can now stream directly to a Logitech Squeezebox device.

The LinkStation Pro Quad is both PC and/or Mac compatible. Use a LinkStation Pro Quad to backup all your data and in the event of a hardware failure you can restore your data exactly as it was. With advanced features such as Bare Metal Restore (BMR) and system imaging, the new LinkStation will be able to perform a complete system restoration, simply and quickly.

Another new feature is that Android users can now access and share their multimedia collection via the Buffalo WebAcecss i app. Already accessible for iPhone®, iPad® and iPod touch® users, Android users can now upload and download content to their Buffalo NAS device, in real-time from anywhere in the world.

With ultra-fast data transfer speeds up to 72MB/s, the LinkStation Pro Quad is a high performance dual drive that can be configured in RAID 0 for performance or RAID 5 for redundant storage, meaning if a hard drive fails, your data is kept safe.

Paul Hudson, Sales Director for Northern Europe at Buffalo Technology comments: "The LinkStation Pro Quad is the perfect device for families that require high capacity home network shared storage. The new features make the latest edition to the LinkStation family a total package for users who understand the importance of storing their irreplaceable data."

Like all products in the LinkStation range, the LinkStation Pro Quad offers additional features such as the ‘Direct Copy’ feature which allows users to automatically upload images from their digital camera or digital camcorder directly to their LinkStation.

The LinkStation Pro Quad is available now from leading retailers including Amazon.co.uk, Misco.co.uk, and dabs.com.
