Buffalo Gets Gamers Online at the Touch of a Button
19/10/2007
London, UK, 19 October 2007 – Buffalo Technology has revealed its Wi-Fi Gaming Access Point, a product which securely integrates games consoles into existing home networks. Safe and simple, it allows gamers to get online to do battle with other MMO players.
The device plugs into any available port on a router on the home network, allowing established network settings to remain untouched while playing the likes of World of Warcraft and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.
Using Buffalo’s AOSS (AirStation One-Touch Secure System) technology, the access point manages different levels of security between consoles: Sony PSP, Sony PS3, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite and Nintendo Wii.
Gerardine Lynch, Product Marketing Manager at Buffalo Technology, comments: “We have developed the Wi-Fi Gaming Access Point in response to consumer demand for a simpler and more secure solution to facilitate online gaming. The access point eases the hassle of difficult WLAN security setup processes, enabling gamers to connect their console without having to worry about managing complex security settings.”
Backed by a limited two-year warranty, the Wi-Fi Gaming Access Point will be available from mid-November at an estimated street price (ex VAT) of £24.00.
Key features include:
