PLATFORM(S): TeraStation NAS / LinkStation NAS SOLUTION: VISTA: Can't connect to a NAS by name, but IP address works. Can see and access shares by \ip_addr, but attempt to map drive fails. -
Go to Control Panel->Network and Internet->Network Connections. -
Right-click on the adapter being used and choose Properties. -
Go to the Properties of Client for Microsoft Networks and set the Name Service Provider to Windows Locator. -
It defaults to nothing in Vista, meaning no local name resolution... |
