Buffalo Technology appoints Klaas de Vos as Senior Director European Sales

London, 6th September 2012 - Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of storage and wireless network solutions, has appointed Klaas de Vos as Senior Director European Sales with immediate effect. Dutch native Klaas has almost 20 years of sales experience in the storage and solutions sector and will report directly to Yasutoshi Yokoyama, Managing Director at Buffalo Europe.

Klaas began his international career in 1990 as Sales Manager for Northern Germany and Holland at Western Digital. Within ten years he rose to the position of Vice President and General Manager EMEA, covering 30% of the company’s worldwide revenue. More recently at the BAS Group, the parent of retail chains Mycom, Dixons, PC World and Dynabyte, de Vos served as a Director of Distribution for the Benelux region.

Klaas says of his new role: “It's great to be back in the storage industry, and I'm honoured to represent Buffalo here in Europe. Together with the Buffalo team and its partners I'm looking forward to increasing the company’s customer base and making the high quality and high performing products of Buffalo available for everybody who needs them.”

Mr Yokoyama adds: “The network and storage market is highly dynamic and requires an intuitive feel for the market which, with his wealth of experience, I am confident Klaas will deliver. Klaas will also help Buffalo Technology to continue its growth in new and existing business sectors and to maintain its success in the future.”

The company has recently launched the TeraStation 5000 series, which provide enterprise-level technology and reliability to SMBs. In the wireless space Buffalo recently drew attention by being the first company worldwide to ship its wireless router AirStation WZR-D1800H. The device features the new Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11ac draft and speeds up wireless communication to up to 1.3 Gbit/s.
